Week #2 Fleece Attack

The Project:  Hat for Lily Bear
The Challenge: Sewing with fleece and decorative stitches

So I am a little late with this week's project (good thing my project week runs Monday to Sunday). We had a case of the crud that is being passed around our family and all I want to do when I come home is turn my humidifier on high and crawl into bed.
I was having a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do this week but it looks like fleece has been thrust upon me.
My Lily Bear seems to have inherited my husband's head circumference and is challenging me to keep her head warm this season.

I will be trying a couple of different hat patterns all in fleece.
I am also going to see if I can learn to use my NEW SEWING MACHINE and incorporate one of the 200+ decorative stitches that it comes with.

You have a new sewing machine? Well I am so glad you asked. Yes, yes I do have a new sewing machine.
My wonderful mother and step-father gave me a
Brother PC-420PRW Project Runway Limited Edition Sewing Machine
for my birthday/Christmas.
It is very exciting as I have been using a Pfaff Hobby with a strait stitch and zigzag stitch as the only fancy options for about 17 years now. It has been a great little machine but as my skills have expanded, so must my machine.
 Time to upgrade!
I haven't used a drop in bobbin since junior high home economics.

(Not really me, I couldn't find a junior high picture of myself on my computer)

I may add some other fleece projects to the week depending on time.
(Good grief! I have been trying to post this since Thursday!!)

  2. I love Lily's facial expression. She looks so annoyed with you.

  3. Lily Bear is a great model. I hope she likes it because she is going to have to do a lot of it in the coming year.

I have exactly the same problem with all my children - but then my husband and I both have extra large heads!
