The 52 Project

Here it begins.
I am not sure how to start this but here it goes. This blog is a way for me to create accountability for myself and to share my love of sewing and creating. A few months ago my cousin Mimi (I am sure she is going to come up pretty often) sent me a picture of a dress that she made out of re-purposed t-shirts. I was so excited by the idea and I suddenly wanted to break out the old hobby Pfaff sewing machine. I used to sew, but for the last 7 years or so, it has been mainly only for Halloween costumes and those done in a rush the night before.
(Okay not Halloween, but our costumes for Tour de Fat this year)

(Even Lily Bear got in to the spirit of things.)

Mimi pointed me to some sewing blogs and I was hooked. I had been needing a creative outlet since Lily Bear was born almost 6 months ago. I am an actor outside of my full time job, but the idea of being in rehearsals every night for months and months of performances away from my family just didn't appeal to me at all. I get a little scary if I don't have an artistic outlet. It is in my family and friends best interest if I do this. So I started by making a few Christmas gifts and realized how much I really enjoyed this.

To make sure that I continue creating, I am making a commitment to myself:
The 52 Project.

Every week I will be tackling (and completing) a new sewing/crafting project. Each one will hopefully include some new skill that I need to acquire.
I am VERY new to this blogging thing so please be patient with me as I learn this new medium.
